Smart, Savvy + Associates is pleased to partner with Rocky Mountain Soap Company in their search for a Vice President, Customer Experience + Digital Growth. The right person for the role is a strong, confident leader with deep expertise in digital marketing, branding and e-commerce, specifically in the retail space. This leader will oversee the alignment of Rocky's brand, marketing, retail and digital customer experiences to deliver consistent, compelling and innovative strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and business performance.

As the Vice President, Customer Experience + Digital Growth, you will...  

  • Develop and implement a unified customer growth strategy that integrates brand, marketing, retail, and e-commerce to grow total customers.
  • Ensure the experience is customer-centric, brand focused, consistent and engaging across all channels, both online and offline.
  • Create and lead Rocky's digital strategy to drive customer growth, focusing on both new customer acquisition and long-term retention. This includes:
    • Developing a robust social strategy that fosters meaningful connections and authentic loyalty.
    • Ensuring seamless integration of the brand experience across digital platforms.
    • Enhancing customer engagement and loyalty by driving growth through targeted digital initiatives.
  • Lead the overall brand strategy to ensure brand messaging, positioning, and identity resonate with target customers.
  • Work with creative teams to drive brand consistency and innovation across all marketing and retail touchpoints.
  • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and loyalty. 
  • Manage digital, social, traditional and other marketing channels to ensure maximum reach and impact.
  • Oversee the e-commerce business, ensuring a seamless digital customer experience.
  • Develop strategies to optimize online sales, improve conversion rates, and increase customer retention through personalized, data-driven digital experiences.
  • Drive innovation in customer engagement, leveraging emerging trends in technology, personalization, and omnichannel strategies. 
  • Explore new ways to reach and connect with customers in the evolving retail and digital landscape.

You have...  

  • 10+ years of marketing leadership experience that involves overseeing a team within the retail and/or e-commerce space. 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, e-commerce, sales and/or business. (MBA preferred.)
  • Played a lead role in growing a brand from $28M to $50M+.
  • A successful track record of digital retail experience, developing omnichannel experiences, customer journey mapping, and scaling small businesses within the e-commerce space. 
  • Proven ability to scale small businesses at the right pace and in a profitable manner. 
  • Expertise in digital brand, omnichannel marketing and e-commerce strategy. 
  • Confident leadership acumen. Able to build healthy relationships and influence across teams without direct authority.
  • Experience building, mentoring and managing high-performing teams across brand, makreting, retail, e-commerce and strategic partners functions. Can cultivate collaborative and results-driven environment while ensuring the team has the necessary tools, training and resources to succeed.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 
  • A data-driven, strategic mindset with strong acumen for financials and analytics. 
  • A driven, determined attitude and a willingness to jump in and get the work done as needed. 
  • The ability to demonstrate exceptional composure and adaptability under pressure, maintaining a calm and focused demeanor while effectively navigating complex challenges and adeptly pivoting in response to changing information and evolving demands.
  • Strong understanding of the future of retail.
