We’re pleased to partner with Langara College in their search for a Manager, Marketing + Communications. The right person for the role is creative and energetic, ready to develop industry-leading omnichannel marketing and communications efforts to elevate Langara within its market. Experience in higher education or enrollment is not a requirement for this position.  

About Langara College 

Located in Vancouver, BC, Langara College opened in 1965 as part of Vancouver Community College and was established as an independent public college in 1994.  

Also known as house of teachings – a name given by the Musqueam First Nation on whose unceded traditionary territory the College is located – Langara is one of BC’s leading undergraduate institutions, providing programs and courses to more than 21,000 students each year.  

About the workplace 

This is a hybrid role that requires working 3 days a week from the Vancouver, BC campus after a one-month in-person training period is completed. 

About the role 

  • Develop, manage and oversee implementation of communications and marketing materials supporting Langara’s student recruitment, admissions and retention goals for domestic, Indigenous, International and Continuing Studies students. 
  • Drive strategy to improve overall communication to current students. 
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures, and ensure quality control across all channels. 

The salary range for the role is $85,540 - $114,281 along with extended health benefits and more. 

About you  

  • 5+ years of directly related experience in managing content strategy, writing and editing. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.) 
  • 3+ years’ experience in a managerial, supervisory or leadership role. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as communications, journalism, marketing management. 
  • Natural talent for persuasive, call-to-action-driven writing for a young audience. 
  • Exceptional English communication skills, including writing, public speaking and presentation skills. 
  • Strong analytic skills and understanding of data-driven marketing. 
  • Able to innovate, problem-solve, take initiative, and exercise tact, confidentiality and diplomacy.  
  • Able to work independently, establishing priorities for yourself and direct reports. 
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Work well under pressure and take pride in meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations. 
  • Good knowledge of the British Columbia and Canadian education systems. 
  • Experience supervising and managing staff, including hiring, evaluating and mentoring. 
  • Stay current on new trends and technologies in digital marketing and identify opportunities to leverage them in support of the organization’s goals.
