Are you a talented professional with demonstrable experience in traditional, social, and digital marketing and communications?  

Smart, Savvy + Associates is pleased to partner with their client, a not-for-profit healthcare organization, in their search for a Marketing Communications Specialist. The right person for the role is self-motivated, able to develop and deliver strong, comprehensive marketing and communications plans. This individual is a strong writer with a positive, can-do attitude and proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, Canva, InDesign, and popular social media platforms.  

As the Marketing Communications Specialist, you will...  

  • Contribute to the development of annual marketing and communications strategy and plans that support business goals. 
  • Manage and carry out a diverse portfolio of communications and marketing responsibilities. 
  • Ensure positive internal and external brand management for the organization. 
  • Support the creation of various materials like writing and editing promotional copy, contribute to creative content, etc. 
  • Identify opportunities to elevate the organization’s profile via media and marketing channels. 
  • Coordinate media interviews with appropriate staff/organizational contacts. 
  • Produce and distribute press releases, media kits and related materials. 
  • Coordinate and manage social media buys, analysis and management. 
  • Manage external contractors, including printers, video/photographers, web developers and more for various projects. 
  • Develop content for and manage production of newsletters. 
  • Create and execute a coordinated social media presence on multiple platforms. 
  • Update and develop creative, brand-centric website content. 
  • Help develop donor engagement and stewardship strategy. 
  • Provide marketing and communications support for annual fundraising event and website. 

You have...  

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related field and/or related education. 
  • Proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator and all social media channels. 
  • Strong writing, proofreading and creative skills. 
  • High attention to detail.  
  • Experience with email marketing and related platforms. 
  • A confident, articulate and concise demeanour when dealing with the media and public. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to build solid relationships with all kinds of stakeholders. 
  • Comfortable creating and presenting unique, creative ways to increase awareness and build brand. 
  • Project management experience. 

Additional details 
💰️ $70,000 - $75,000, plus additional benefits 
📍 Full-time, on site (Vancouver, BC) with flexibility to work a hybrid schedule once the initial, in-person training period is complete.
